Training for Clinicians

A Community of Learning

In addition to offering psychotherapy services to support the greater Bay Area community and a flexible internship program for associates and newly licensed clinicians, Grateful Heart holds monthly workshops that are open to local practitioners at an affordable cost.

Our monthly clinical training workshops focus on contemporary approaches to the therapeutic process, trends in trauma, neurobiology and attachment, psychotherapy with couples and marginalized persons as well as other topics of interest to our community.

Please join us!

Unless otherwise noted, our workshops are open to students, trainees, associates and practitioners of mental health. Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, we have shifted our trainings to a webinar format using Zoom.

Cost: Our training workshops are free for associates, alumni and supervisors of Grateful Heart. The price of workshops vary for clinicians who are unaffiliated with Grateful Heart, and are noted below.

RSVP: To attend one of our workshops, use the registration form linked in the workshop information below. If you are not an associate, alumni or supervisor of Grateful Heart, you will be instructed to pay an attendance fee using the link in the payment section of this page.

Payment:  Please submit your training payment online by clicking HERE. Zoom links will be sent out close to the day of the training, and after all RSVPs and payments (if apropos) are received. If you wish to receive CEs for a workshop where they are available (indicated in workshop list below), please add the CE fee to your base training payment.

Cancellations: For non-CE trainings, attendance cancellations made with less than 72-hour’s notice before the training start time are not eligible for a refund. For CE trainings, attendance cancellations made with less than 1 week’s notice are not eligible for a refund.

A Note about Zoom Links: If you have registered for a training and have not received the zoom link by the advertised date, please check the spam/junk folder of your email inbox as the links sometimes get caught there.

Visit our Continuing Education Credit page for more information about CE training policies and procedures.

Internships

We offer a supportive private practice internship program, allowing pre-licensed clinicians (AMFT/ASW/APCC) to earn an income, accrue hours towards licensure and develop the clinical and entrepreneurial skills required for success in private practice. During the Coronavirus pandemic, we are continuing to accept new associates, helping them to launch practices as teletherapists. We also occasionally accept newly licensed clinicians, helping them to launch their private practice careers.

Services

In response to the Coronavirus, we now focus on providing teletherapy (therapy by phone and video) to our clients. Teletherapy can be helpful to individuals of all ages, including children and teenagers. Couples and families can also benefit from the convenience, flexibility and effectiveness of teletherapy. Please call or write us today to learn more about our services.
