Felecytie (Fey) Rosen-Hanson, MA
Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #103237
Are you dealing with feelings of loss or being overwhelmed? Is shame or guilt overtaking your thoughts? I work as your teammate to support you in identifying and breaking free from challenging personal and interpersonal patterns to create more of what you want in your life. My therapeutic focus is building a strong but flexible container to process forgiveness, grow self-awareness, and redirect stagnant energy to better suit your desired direction in life. I bring a gentle spirituality and affirming, nonjudgmental witness to my work with all of my clients across a range of issues, including:
- Single parenting
- Step- and blended families
- Interfaith blending in couples and families
- Family loss, repair, and strengthening
- Postpartum depression
Beyond these specific areas, I am genuinely curious and open to exploring and supporting any range of needs that you may have. Trained in Somatic Therapy with a special emphasis on trauma, I believe in using the therapeutic relationship to support you in having more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others. Some of the tools I work with include Ho'oponopono, Hakomi, meditation, sand tray and other expressive arts, and movement.
I love seeing the courageous ways that you have survived and celebrating what makes you who you are now. As I give you witness to your full self, you will be able to expand the boundaries of who you are to include new, beautiful openings to even more of yourself and to the world around you as you thrive in new ways.
As a mother of three, a single parent, and now a member of a blended and interfaith family, I have thrived supporting families experiencing postpartum depression, new arrivals, family losses, and the myriad other stresses and life events that come with single parenting, co-parenting, and family growth and change. I joined Grateful Heart Holistic Therapy Center in the spring of 2017, after completing my graduate studies at John F. Kennedy University. With a background in massage therapy and energy work, as well as experience in childcare (with and without special needs) and adult and elderly care, my therapy practice includes work with all ages and with a wide variety of embodied needs and concerns over the lifetime, including grief, anxiety, trauma, family, and relationship issues.
My approach with clients is warm, interactive, and collaborative. To attune to my clients’ mind, body, and spiritual needs, I find that the practices of mindfulness, self-forgiveness, and compassion can be powerful resources for healing. I establish strong working partnerships with my clients and believe that the relationship we develop can be an important part of the therapeutic process. I also draw upon Ho'oponopono (a Hawaiian spiritual practice of aligning energy to give and receive forgiveness and peace), Hakomi, meditation, and the authentic client-therapist relationships to support my clients to have more fulfilling connections with themselves and others.
