Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, AMFT 110268
I am interested in the holistic health of Marin and its collective communities. And at the heart of each community is family. Creating a healthy family is no easy task. Our culture wants us to believe this happens naturally and individually. But as social creatures, relying on others for support is natural. I feel truly grateful to have found my calling as an advocate for children and families.
MY BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
After graduating from the Wright Institute in Berkeley with a master’s degree in counseling psychology, I honed my skills as a K-8 school-based clinician in Marin City. At Bayside MLK Academy, I worked with children, teens, parents, caregivers, and an amazing team of caring professionals. I also have extensive experience working with children and families in the pediatric healthcare setting at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco, where I am part of the Creative Arts Therapies team. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Southern California’s School of Film and Television.
In working with children, it’s important to connect in a genuine way. That’s why we play! Play is the language of children. And play can make even the toughest conversation possible. We can play through games, arts, storytelling and other activities. I love building real relationships with my young clients. Using my superpowers of calm and patience mixed with a dose of silliness and curiosity, I can become a trusted resource for you and your child. Working with parents, it’s so important to be collaborative. You know your family best and we’ll need to face challenges together to create real change.
Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful! I believe in the simple wisdom of children, the power of a parent’s love, and the gift of post-traumatic growth. Families have deep reserves of problem-solving abilities. As we work together, both children and parents can uncover and master these hidden skills.
