You’re not broken, though at times in life we can feel that way. It can be difficult, but reaching out for support is the first step to feeling like life is working again. I work with individuals and couples to help facilitate their process of living a fuller, deeper, more authentic, and balanced life, through Mindfulness Based and Somatic Psychotherapy. It’s an honor to sit with my clients and be a part of their journey.
My approach to therapy is client based and mindfulness based, as well as warm, lighthearted and relational. We start with where you are, working to integrate all parts of yourself with kindness and self compassion. Our true Self or Essence can sometimes be hidden by the ‘noise’ of the world, through this work you can discover it again, cultivating peace and understanding.
I believe healing involves being authentic, and allowing all parts of yourself to be discovered, expressed and embraced. As we change our relationship to life, life changes. My trust in this process comes from my work with clients and my own personal growth work.
My specialties include working with:
- The LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer identified) Community
- Trauma and Anxiety related issues
- Mindfulness Based Psychotherapies
Working with Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy:
Working with Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy allows you to get curious and uncover some of the core beliefs and patterns that may be holding you back from living your fullest life. Through this work you can access different parts of yourself, known, and unknown, bringing into awareness how you’re organized in life, and how you may be reacting, consciously and unconsciously.
This allows you to become more present, have more choice, and change unconscious patterns. It also allows you to learn what your strengths and resources are in life, which are unique and innate in each individual. We mostly grow from new embodied experiences, not just new ideas. This work allows that integration to happen.
Working with mindfulness, and cultivating curiosity in sessions, also helps you develop a skill, or practice, that you can incorporate into your life for continued growth and stress management.
As we change, life changes. Sometimes we forget we are already whole and complete, and dwell on things we dislike, that may seem ‘wrong’ about us, or that aren’t going right. However, that in itself is just a belief, and what lives behind that belief is our true Essence. Our true Self or Essence can be hidden by the ‘noise’ of the world, through this work you can discover it again. I believe we can grow through life’s challenges with peace and joy. And there is a part of us that already knows how to heal. Sometimes we just need an environment that allows our healing to happen.
