Jessica (Jess) Thompson
- Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker
Master of Social Work
You are enough, just as you are. Loving yourself during times of emotional overwhelm, interpersonal conflict, stagnation, or stress may feel impossible. It’s not. You can learn to accept yourself without judgment while simultaneously growing and bettering yourself. Our work together will increase your awareness of who you are now, who you want to be, and what is getting in your way.
In our work together, I will show up with warmth, openness, and authenticity. I use a Gestalt therapy approach to focus us on the here and now, with particular attention to your emotional presence. I incorporate mindfulness and body work (somatic experience) into my practice. Our therapeutic connection is of great interest and importance to me. I am changed by my clients just as they are changed by me. Let’s meet and begin the journey.
My education has given me a strong foundation in social justice, policy and advocacy, and community mental health. Upon graduation, I began training in Gestalt therapy at Esalen Institute and Pacific Gestalt Institute. My clinical work is focused on the singular experience of my client, but with a deep compassion and understanding of how the individual is influenced by larger systems.
I explore client experience through unstructured and relational talk therapy. My direct communication style, sense of humor, empathic nature, and curiosity influence my work. My connection to each client is unique and my approach is influenced by that connection.
