- Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
Master of Arts, Counseling Psychology
I work with individuals and couples seeking to regain a sense of agency in their life. Whether you feel like you lost your sense of aliveness, need to remember, or maybe discover for the first time, what it is like to feel passionate, playful, and hopeful in life, I am here to help!
There are many ways we can lose sight of these things. In my experience, the way forward is a journey that may demand learning new ways to feel good and opening to our darker sides.
Whether your darker side takes the form of anxiety and depression, shame, feeling like you are not good enough, anger issues, dealing with an abusive inner critic, or issues communicating your needs or not feeling heard by your loved ones, I will meet you where you are and accompany you on this journey.
I thrive to support my clients to feel like they can be the actor of their life instead of a spectator watching life pass in front of them. I use somatic therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, attachment theory, EMDR, trauma-informed therapy, narrative therapy, along with a large dose of humor and creativity, amongst many other tools.
My interest in psychology began at age 19 when I started visiting Plum Village, a Zen monastery in the South of France. There, I heard for the first time this peculiar idea that body and mind can’t be separated, that they are the two faces of the same coin.
This idea deeply transformed my life. I eventually became a yoga and dance teacher, as those practices were the best embodiment of what I was interested in that I could find. Later, I heard about somatic psychotherapy, and I finally felt like I had found the people interested in the same things I was.
Indeed, somatics, in many ways, integrates the wisdom from the East with Western science, in particular psychology, neuroscience, and ethology.
It felt like the missing piece of my puzzle and transformed how I dance, practice, and teach yoga.
Before graduating with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychotherapy specializing in somatic psychotherapy from CIIS, I first graduated with a Master of Arts in Business Engineering from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management. I worked as a business consultant and financial adviser in India and Belgium for a few years.
Finding this work unsatisfying, I decided to change careers and became a certified Yoga teacher and Soul Motion teacher. I ran a yoga studio in Brussels where I offered regular yoga and dance classes to groups and individuals and workshops on healthy eating, meditation, and Yoga philosophy.
I have experience working with depression and anxiety, inner critic, grief, and life transitions, and couples seeking to better communicate or rediscover passion, intimacy, and playfulness in their relationships.
My approach is inspired by my dance practice, somatic work, trauma-informed work, and my spiritual practice.
I believe that we, as part of the human species, are strong and resilient, able to survive in the most inhospitable conditions, may it be the Saharian desert, freezing Antarctica, the top of the Himalaya mountain chain, an abusive household, or a society that constantly sends you messages about how wrong you are to be you.
I see my work as supporting others in finding their strength when it has been so overused it became invisible to them. I aim to support clients with gaining agency over their lives and freeing stuck energy to be reallocated to use better, whatever that means to them.
