ASW #97969
Therapist, Master’s of Social Service
We are all seeking greater knowledge and understanding of ourselves and the world around us. The more we can create inner peace and joy, the more joy we will see it reflected back to us. I would love to support you in the journey of self-acceptance and self-love. Your wellness journey is unique to who you are and where you are at this moment. I am here to listen deeply, explore your inner world and notice how your belief system manifests in your external world. I believe in embracing the light and the shadows.
I am a queer Afro-Latina with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I am comfortable working with BIPOC, Queer, beings seeking to heal or continue healing from imposter syndrome, burnout, dissociation, feeling disconnected to self, and those recovering from childhood and past traumas.
Please contact me for a 15 minute consultation. I look forward to supporting you.
I am a bilingual Dominican-American therapist and yoga teacher originally from Brooklyn, NY. I am licensed in NYS (LMSW) and registered as an ASW in CA. As a clinician, I draw from my years of education as well as my lived experience: I was raised by Spanish-speaking immigrants of color in a low social economic environment. As a queer, Afro-Latina, I have learned to (and continue to explore how to) embrace my heritage and heal parts of my past, and tap into a deep sense of resilience I feel like is inherent to all of us. My greatest gift is that I can highly relate to many of my clients.
My vision is to support others on their journeys to thrive even while navigating the challenges of life. I am a yogi, dance lover, animal lover, therapist and I am a ride or die for my community.
My expertise is blending mindfulness, yoga, and counseling to best support my clients. As a former preschool teacher, former high school therapist, and yoga instructor I draw on my understanding of early attachment, brain, and human development. I have studied CBT, somatics, DBT, transpersonal psychology, motivational interviewing, and trauma based mindfulness. I have experience with working with the LGBTQIA+ spectrum community, trauma, anxiety, relationships and conflicts, depression, gender exploration, and executive functioning.
I integrate transpersonal psychology, somatic skills, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and dialectical/behavioral skills. My approach is holistic and social justice oriented. When appropriate we explore how your family, society, identities, and individual perceptions affect your current state. We explore these ideas together by taking your lead and highlighting your strengths.
