Life can present adversity and challenges in identity, work, health, and relationships as well other troubling inner and outer symptoms. These difficulties and traumas can contort and distort us; blocking our capacity to creatively express and love freely. We unconsciously develop patterns and coping styles that stymie our deepest longing for true belonging, authentic connection, and expansion. We become shackled to re-enactments of painful aspects of the past. I will assist you in developing keen insight and awareness into your unique adaptive style and to harness this awareness toward life-affirming changes in the now.
My style is forthright, lively, creative, warm and inclusive. I will champion your well being and your wholeness that is your birthright. I work in a Trauma-informed, Mind/Body Interface with Anxiety, Depression, Past and Current Trauma, Grief, Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, and Substance Challenges. I work with those who suffer from anger issues, self-defeatist thoughts and behaviors, and those who struggle to know who they really are. I work relationally with friends, families, couples, and other unique constellations of relationships.
I am of service to you and your journey; helping you and your loved ones navigate whatever challenges, difficulties, or traumas plague your life. I will help you learn how to communicate and assert your needs, listening deeply to yourself and others. I engage both your mind and body inquiring into your words and to the honest language of the body: your tone, timbre, posture, attitude, breath, and presence. I bring in mindfulness practices to balance the nervous system and creative interventions to bridge the many ways we humans can split off from our inherent wholeness.
I bring 25 years of experience working both one on one with clients and in groups as a Licensed Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, a Pilates Instructor, and a Rehabilitative Yoga Instructor. My unique background as a health practitioner gives me the benefit of a rich understanding and expertise in the language of the Soma/Body. Additionally, my work as a Creative Performance Artist performing and directing worldwide as a Cirque Aerialist, Singer, and Modern Dancer enriches my sessions with an uplifting approach that calls on the world of the imagination to traverse difficult times and relationships. Together we will get down to work digging through the ashes of the past with an eye toward the expansive sky where the Phoenix rises from the flames.
I specialize in a profoundly alive and engaging form of therapy called Orgonomy. Orgonomy involves an in-depth exploration of your unique way of interacting with yourself, others, and the world around you. Much of how we engage in the world is an adaptive response to what we have experienced. Many of these adaptive responses once helped us to survive but are now part and parcel of our current symptoms. I will help you uncover the ways in which your unique coping strategies both help and stymie your well-being. Together in a safe and consistent container, we will unmask areas that seek to hide, divert love and/or brew in anxiety & depressive symptomatology. We will address insecure coping strategies and aim to create stability and confidence as you begin to open to your fullest authentic expression. Once a secure container is built in your being, we can dig deeper into places of unresolved difficulties and trauma; eventually giving way to a stable and felt sense of self, an increased capacity to love and securely express your needs. At times, Orgonomy includes effective bodywork in the way of breathwork and specific movements to help unwind held and restricted areas. Effective and safe bodywork via telehealth can be achieved through authentic contact with emotions and proper guidance.
The unique model of Orgonomy I work with draws from a strong Psychodynamic approach while giving ample space for the rich, poetic world of Jungian archetypes, shadow work, and dream analysis. Additionally, I draw from Attachment Theory, Bowen Family System work, and Internal Family Systems.
