ASW #102824
Master of Social Welfare (MSW)
I work with people who are looking for support in cultivating the fulfilling and sustainable life they want to live. My clients are often experiencing the impact of ongoing stress, which can be related to burnout, disordered sleep, executive dysfunction and ADHD, substance use, social media concerns, life transitions, anxiety, or depression. Over the course of your life you’ve developed a set of strategies that have gotten you through a lot, but you may still feel stuck in a pattern or a cycle that isn’t serving you. My role is to support you in creating the conditions you need for your well-being and joy. Together, we can put the resources into place that you need, and make space for what sustains and invigorates you.
I hold a Masters in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brown University, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Psychosocial Counseling from Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz in Switzerland. Based on a desire to move away from mental health care’s history of pathologizing those seeking support and toward a holistic, nonjudgmental approach, I chose to pursue a clinical social work program that explicitly emphasized environmental context, systemic awareness, and pragmatic considerations. My experience serving clients in the community, including at a counseling center for sex workers, a Federally Qualified Health Center, an inpatient hospital setting, a school for autistic children, and a substance use treatment center, have helped me develop an integrated toolkit to effectively meet my clients’ needs.
I’m consistently impressed by my clients’ courage and capacity for healing, and I feel honored to be doing this work. Thank you for showing up.
I’m passionate about learning what will work best for my clients. There exists a wide body of research about which methods are effective under which circumstances - I work in modalities from psychodynamic, somatic, humanistic, and cognitive traditions.
That being said, your story, your strengths, your values, and your goals are going to guide our decisions about which approaches we take and how. This means that it’s important for you to be seen, heard, understood, and validated in the space we co-create. It also means that I will prioritize transparency in this process so you can make informed decisions about your care. You deserve mental health care that empowers you to carve out the path that you want for yourself. I’m here to meet you where you are and accompany you on your journey - you don’t need to do this alone.
