Associate Clinical Social Worker, MSW with Community Mental Health Concentration
As a queer & trans affirming, kink aware, and trauma-informed therapist I invite you to consider this: is acceptance even worth it if it means showing up inauthentically? How would your life change if you didn’t abandon parts of yourself to find belonging? What if getting lost is just part of the journey? I’ll sit with you and be a witness to your story, no matter how beautiful or horrifying. I want to hear what’s taboo, subversive and usually unspoken. I believe once you confront the fear that's holding you back you can finally figure out how to make the most of this wild and precious life.
One of my greatest joys is connecting to people on a deep level and witnessing them relax into their bodies as they start to feel safer. I am committed to learning and have formally studied trauma-informed yoga, queer feminist theory, and reproductive justice. I identify as neurodivergent, white (Irish/German descent), small fat/”plus sized", and queer (bi, nonbinary, fluid, femme), among other things. In my spare time you might find me strolling through dense redwood forests, organizing events and publishing zines with the queer art community, or reading a book in a cozy chair.
I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in community mental health from Cal State East Bay, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Literature from UC Santa Cruz. I’m a certified yoga instructor with over 500 hours of specialized training and five years of experience teaching trauma-informed yoga to youth and adults. I have specialized training in somatic therapy, sex therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
I use relational and somatic (body-based) techniques to build your internal resources and find safety in yourself. We’ll get curious about how relationships–to self, to others, to our environment–impacts quality of life as humans with a natural need for connection. Using sensation exploration and guided meditation I can help guide you to feel more at home in your body. I work through a holistic model that considers the impact of social systems on your health and how your many intersecting identities shape your experiences. I am passionate about holding space for nuance and uplifting a “both/and” way of viewing the world. My guiding inquiry: how can we make the most of our lives while living in this chaotic world?
