Are you feeling lost, stuck, or unsure of what to do? Do you feel out of control? Do you feel like something is holding you back or blocking you from feeling content and fulfilled?
Life can feel crazy, we can feel crazy ourselves, but you don't have to navigate it alone.
I believe we as humans are meant to live in communities where we support and accept one another, balanced with skills to support and accept ourselves - yet traumatic experiences, major life changes, mood disorders, and the structure of our societies (just to name a few things!) often keep us from feeling connected, heard, and healed.
As a therapist, I have particular experience with complex trauma, dissociation, depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, and religious trauma. After all, I've been there myself. Everyone's journey is different, yet I know from experience how hard, disorienting, and difficult it can be. Still, I believe life can be different when we travel together instead of carrying our burdens and pain alone.
I hold a graduate degree in clinical counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. While I was there, I was inspired by my challenging upbringing to also obtain a master's degree in religion and spirituality and study religious abuse in the Christian church. Before Grateful Heart, I worked in the therapist training program at The Liberation Institute serving a culturally, economically, and LGBTQ+ diverse range of individuals.
I am a therapist that operates a collaborative and person-centered practice that explores all the unique aspects of you and facilitates awareness and inner discovery so you can live the life you find most meaningful. Modalities I use primarily include ACT, Parts work, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy, although I draw from other modalities based on the needs of the people I meet with.
In other words, I aim to offer a space where you - with the "good" and "bad" and quirky and neat parts and all - can come as you are, to a space of warmth, safety, and gentle curiosity, free of judgement. In this place, we can work together to heal deep wounds and challenge the parts of you that keep you stuck or stand in the way of living the full life you desire, even if it seems impossible to imagine right now.
I invite you to reach out to see if we may be a good fit. I look forward to walking with you on your journey and holding warmth and acceptance for all the things that make you, you.
