How I Can Help

Life can be hard at times and not having the right tools can be challenging. Whether you are struggling with past trauma, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, addiction, or events in your life that are emotionally draining, we can work together to figure out the best way to live your fullest life. I have a direct, honest, and compassionate style of communicating that allows us to focus on your goals in a collaborative and constructive way, but most importantly in a way that makes sense to you. Let therapy guide you in the direction you want to go.

About Me

I have a master of arts in clinical counseling from Alliant International University and a bachelor of science in psychology from the University of California San Diego. I have been fortunate to experience the power of psychotherapy through my own life challenges and the gratifying healing that takes place in therapy. Talk therapy was introduced to me later in life. Although it was new to me, my experience of my first therapeutic relationship opened the doors to many possibilities. It provided me with the strength and tools to get through life's challenges. Taking time to nurture your emotional health is an amazing gift to yourself.

My Background and Experience

I specialize in working with teens, adults, and older adults from all walks of life. My clinical experience includes community mental health settings as well as the private sector. My areas of expertise include addiction counseling (substances, shopping, sex, social media); relationship issues; anxiety, depression, and mood disorders; trauma; and life and career transitions. I am a certified EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapist, helping clients unpack and reprocess painful trauma. EMDR is a well-researched and proven method of treatment for those struggling with trauma. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and acceptance commitment therapy with my clients.

My Values

I value human connection, especially during times when human connection is far away. We live in a fast-paced society that limits our ability to stay connected with ourselves, often leading us to ignore self-care. Slowing down, listening, and reconnecting forces you to gain further clarity and reassess the negative cycle you may be in. Prioritizing self-care is crucial and the first step towards achieving your overall wellness.

Internships

We offer a supportive private practice internship program, allowing pre-licensed clinicians (AMFT/ASW/APCC) to earn an income, accrue hours towards licensure and develop the clinical and entrepreneurial skills required for success in private practice. During the Coronavirus pandemic, we are continuing to accept new associates, helping them to launch practices as teletherapists. We also occasionally accept newly licensed clinicians, helping them to launch their private practice careers.

Services

In response to the Coronavirus, we now focus on providing teletherapy (therapy by phone and video) to our clients. Teletherapy can be helpful to individuals of all ages, including children and teenagers. Couples and families can also benefit from the convenience, flexibility and effectiveness of teletherapy. Please call or write us today to learn more about our services.
