- Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
Master of Arts, Counseling Psychology
Let's connect digitally during a time of "social distancing." Currently offering reduced fee teletherapy (video or phone sessions) to those deeply affected by COVID-19.
Finding a therapist that meets your needs is challenging. If you're familiar with therapy, you're probably tired of repeating your story and if you're new to therapy, you're probably dreading that initial appointment. Regardless of your past experience, my priority is to help you feel safe, especially during these unprecedented times.
As California's "shelter in place" continues, you are likely to feel increased anxiety, disconnection, isolation and difficulty adjusting to your new "normal." If you are sharing space with a partner or have children at home, rising relationship issues and parenting struggles may arise.
Whatever it is that you are feeling...being seen, heard and validated in a nonjudgmental space can be powerful. There is power to be gained from accepting your authentic self. As a therapist, I collaborate with you to harness this power. I am passionate about creativity, transparency, and personal growth. I believe every individual is unique and deserves a care plan that embraces their identity.
I have a master's degree in counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco and years of clinical experience working with marginalized populations. I excel in providing therapy to individuals with trauma histories as well as to couples and families working on establishing better communication. I'm aware that everyone has a trauma history that affects their current relationship with self and others.
As a Chinese American woman, I understand the struggle of being stuck “in between” two cultures, not knowing exactly where you fit in. I’m a therapist who values the therapeutic relationship, and while I’m the expert in relationships, you are the expert of yourself.
I’m a culturally competent therapist who practices cultural humility with all my clients. I’m also a trauma-focused therapist and believe we all process trauma in different ways, allowing a sense of autonomy for my clients to process challenges in their own terms.
I provide services to individuals, couples, and families using an integrative approach of attachment theories, positive psychology, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
I have a natural ability to be an empathic listener and healer. I’m personable and enjoy strengthening the relationship between myself and my clients.
The principles and values that inspire and guide me are authenticity, having a sense of purpose, and personal growth.
