Hi there. I’m glad you’re looking into getting support. I specialize in somatic, creatively-focused, and inner child work psychotherapy. With me as your therapist, we will ground and regulate the body, as we invite different parts of you to be heard and to integrate. I utilize somatic touch work to help my clients move through stuckness and into healing.
As many people are especially overwhelmed right now, trauma-informed techniques are even more important. I am holistic and integrative, which means that I believe there is potential for healing in each one of us. I am here to facilitate what the body knows how to do best, which is to heal.
I enjoy working with clients of all ages, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, sexualities, and other intersectional identities. I meet with clients via Telehealth, In-Office in Pleasant Hill, and for Outdoor Therapy sessions. Please feel free to read more about what our work together will entail, and contact me to book a consultation. I look forward to meeting you.
I have personally and professionally experienced the deep healing that a safe, nurturing, and supportive therapeutic container can provide. A secure attachment relationship can hold space for incredible transformation, simply through feeling heard, seen, and witnessed. This is my number one priority and focus as an attachment-focused therapist.
I strive to hold a space for my clients to be met fully. It is important to me as a therapist to focus on empowering my clients to challenge structures of oppression. This work includes acknowledging my own intersectional identities, some of which hold privilege, and some of which have experienced marginalization.
I work with clients who hold identities of being a person of color, trans, nonbinary, queer, disabled, non-monogamous, and more. It is of vital importance to me to continue to do my own work and education around social justice.
I invite my clients to let me know if or when something comes up where they did not feel fully seen or heard. We have many aspects or identities within us that are all welcome in the therapy space. Together, we hold a space where these parts can speak and share embodied experiences and state clear needs.
I graduated from Southwestern College with a Master's in Counseling. I have been specializing in Somatic therapeutic trainings, specifically in touch work with Transforming Touch to regulate the nervous system and work with developmental trauma. I also have training and experience working with Expressive Arts techniques and Inner Parts modalities, such as Focusing.
I focus on incorporating somatic techniques to help regulate the nervous system. I practice Transforming Touch®️ somatic therapy, which utilizes touch and the attachment relationship to help with developmental trauma. I also incorporate Hakomi®️ and Somatic Experiencing®️ methods to enter into the "here and now experience" where healing can happen.
Including the body and emotions in treatment allows for support through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and more at a deep level. We may use tools such as titration, pendulation, and grounding techniques to calm the body, ease the mind, and soothe the spirit.
I practice inner child and inner parts work to assist different aspects of ourselves in being heard. This can look like going back through time to meet ourselves at a younger age and listen to the needs we had at that time. This can help to even restructure our past memories into ones that we feel supported with. You may have many different identities and ages of yourself show up, such as student, partner, friend, younger self, and different emotions from these parts, and they may want to be known. Together, in hearing your needs from the time, we work to have your needs be met at a deeper level in the present moment.
As an artist, I know that we all have an inner artist that yearns to be expressed. Whether it is through movement, dance, painting, drawing, drama, poetry, or other mediums, there is an art form that speaks to each one of us. We will invite different forms of expressive art into the therapy space, as a way to externally mirror our internal landscape and integrate what is within. I assist in moving through creative blocks with tailored practices to fulfill and support one's own artistic needs.
