I focus on building trust and creating a safe space that can allow clients over time begin to do some more depth work (e.g. process grief, trauma, attachment wounding). The work that I do with my clients is best described as Somatic and Relational therapy.
I believe that for therapy to be successful there are two essential components: a client's willingness for change/growth, and finding a good therapeutic match that can facilitate this growth. In my work, I focus on the relationship between the client and clinician throughout the treatment. I believe this creates the foundation for deeper work to occur, such as noticing problematic patterns or healing from wounds of the past.
I have found that approaching the work with a holistic lens tends to be the most helpful. With that said, my interventions and treatment are informed from many modalities such as Somatic Experiencing, CBT, Logotherapy, and EFT. I find it best to be well versed in different disciplines to offer the client a variety of interventions, whether is it to soothe the body, or go deeper into the mind.
I graduated from CIIS based in San Francisco, CA in 2020. I finished my traineeship at the Center for Somatic Psychotherapy. I am currently working at Grateful Heart Holistic Therapy Clinic where I am providing private practice therapy for individuals, couples, and families.
While I find it beneficial to be well versed in many modalities, the primary modalities I use to guide the work are both Somatic and Relational Psychotherapy. I will often inquire about how the body reacts, and takes shape to the content we discuss in treatment. On the Somatic side of the work, my belief is that often times our internal landscape is represented in our posture and other physical manifestations. On the Relational side of the work, I prioritize the therapeutic relationship first and foremost, and allow for the client to do the necessary depth work, while continuing to create space to explore what is transpiring in the "here and now," both in the therapeutic space and the relationship.
