Hi, I’m Jessica Cruz (she/her), an associate therapist passionate about supporting individuals and couples navigating life’s complexities. I specialize in helping people explore identity, heal relational and developmental trauma, and reconnect with their sense of self in a way that feels authentic and empowering. My practice is rooted in curiosity, care, and a deep belief that healing happens in safe, connected relationships. Whether you’re moving through anxiety, grief, family dynamics, or a desire to feel more grounded in who you are, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and clarity.
I believe therapy is a tender and collaborative space where healing happens through safety, connection, and curiosity. It's not about fixing what's "wrong" with you—it's about gently exploring the experiences, relationships, and systems that have shaped you, and making space for all the parts of you to be seen and held. I see therapy as a relationship where your inner wisdom is honored, your voice is valued, and together we move at a pace that feels safe and empowering. I believe deeply in your capacity to heal, grow, and reconnect with the wholeness that’s already within you.
My work is rooted in a relational, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed lens, with deep respect for each person’s unique lived experience. I value authenticity, collaboration, and attunement—core elements that help build a therapeutic space where clients can feel truly seen and supported. As a therapist, my strengths lie in holding compassionate space for complexity, helping clients make meaning of their past while gently guiding them toward more connected and empowered ways of being. I integrate an intersectional lens, always mindful of how culture, identity, and systems shape our internal worlds. Above all, I believe healing happens in relationship—when we feel safe enough to show up as our full selves and are met with care, curiosity, and respect.
I’m a queer, mixed-race, neurodivergent (ADHD), cisgender woman who knows the power of spaces where you can just be—breathe, be messy, be real, and maybe even laugh a little. My journey to becoming a therapist wasn’t linear, but it’s been full of curiosity, growth, and a deep care for people. With a foundation in sociology and social work, I eventually found my way to therapy through my own process of reflection and healing. I earned my Master’s in Marriage, Child, and Family Therapy from San Francisco State—a program rooted in decolonial and social justice values. I’m also CECREP certified, and committed to making therapy more affirming, accessible, and culturally humble. At the core of my work is connection: sitting with you through the tough stuff, helping untangle what’s no longer serving you, and celebrating the moments of clarity and light along the way.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in relational and psychodynamic frameworks, with a keen understanding of how early environments and relationships shape the developing self. I approach therapy through a trauma‑informed lens, honoring guiding principles of safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment—trusting that your body and nervous system hold the wisdom to heal when given compassionate support.
I also weaves in an intersectional perspective, considering how identity, power, and systemic forces influence your experiences. Together, we explore how these elements inform current struggles, and work toward integration of fractured parts and meaningful growth. My goal is to co-create a safe, attuned space—one that fosters resilience, insight, and genuine healing.
