Hi there, I’m Sydney. I’m a San Francisco and Marin-based therapist who believes that your healing journey begins with the formation of a trusting therapeutic relationship—one where you feel comfortable exploring your inner world free from judgement.
If we choose to work together, my goal as your therapist is to create a warm and supportive space where you feel heard and deeply understood as you navigate your life’s challenges.
I work with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents seeking support for anxiety, depression, life transitions, PTSD, relationship struggles, attention and focus issues, grief and loss, substance use, parenting concerns, LGBTQ+ identity exploration, and the impacts of traumatic brain injury.
I invite you to reach out for a complimentary 15-minute consultation so we can get a sense of one another. I offer in-office sessions in San Francisco, walk-and-talk therapy in San Francisco and Marin, and telehealth throughout California. I look forward to connecting with you.
I don’t believe anyone is “broken” or is in need of fixing; rather, I see every individual as a whole and capable person. YOU are the expert on YOU; my role is to bring compassionate curiosity and reflection to our sessions so that you can gain insights and begin transformational change.
Many of us carry old stories that are either not true or no longer serve us. Therapy can help untangle those stories. And, while our work can be deep and meaningful, it doesn’t always have to feel heavy—I find humor to be a potent and delightful part of the healing process.
I hold a Master’s in Integrative Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), as well as a Master’s in Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in Russian Studies.
Before becoming a therapist, I raised two neurodivergent children, ran a family business, was a reporter for a now-defunct Bay Area newspaper, and earned my stripes in crisis communications during one of the largest food safety emergencies of the mid-1990’s. I have been divorced and found love and partnership again. I am a trail runner, mountain biker and a lover of art, cooking, animals and nature. I am culturally Jewish, raised without organized religion, and have become a spiritual seeker who feels most at home in Taoism. These experiences shape the way I show up as a therapist: grounded, curious, practical, and deeply aware of the complexity of being human.
Therapy feels like a calling for me. It’s an honor to be with clients as they explore their deepest questions about who they are and who they want to become.
My approach to therapy is warm and engaging. I bring fresh eyes and an open heart to every session.
My work draws from:
• Jungian psychology
• Gestalt & Internal Family Systems (parts work)
• Somatic awareness and the mind–body connection
• Strength-based and Solution-focused
• Trauma-informed
